The Beer Heights Light Railway

THE BHLR

The Heart of Pecorama

Widely regarded as one of the finest 7¼ inch gauge railways in Britain, the Beer Heights Light Railway has been delighting visitors since 1975. Set high above the village of Beer in East Devon, this one-mile miniature railway offers a truly memorable journey with sweeping views across Lyme Bay and along the Jurassic Coast. It is the heart of Pecorama and a must-ride attraction for all ages.

Heritage and Engineering

Inspired by Britain’s famous narrow gauge railways, including the Great Little Trains of Wales, the locomotives and rolling stock are crafted at one-third of the size while retaining authentic detail. At busy times, multiple trains and locomotives operate together, managed by a fully automatic, fail-safe signalling system using both colour light and traditional semaphore signals.

The result is a smooth, safe and scenic railway experience that combines heritage charm with impressive engineering.
