On Sunday 16th August we have a Special VIP Guest, Veronica Chambers. Daughter of the late Reverend Wilbert Awdry, will give an illustrated talk in the on-site Lecture Theatre on her father’s life entitled ‘The Thomas the Tank Engine Man’, beginning at 2pm, with donations requested from those attending in aid of her Veronica Awdry Charitable Trust, a registered UK charity based in Devon that provides grants to charitable organisations and individuals, including heritage railways (see www.veronica-awdry-charitable-trust.org.uk). Items of Awdry family memorabilia will be on display and Veronica will answer some questions from the audience at the end of the talk.
