Cleaning and holiday let Supervisor

About the Role

As a Cleaning Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our diverse sites, which include a factory, offices, tourism sites, and a holiday let. Your responsibilities will not only be confined to supervising a dedicated team of cleaners but also extend to managing our holiday flat lettings. This is a divers role that varies form hands on cleaning to managing the cleaning team to looking after our new holiday let flat in beer.

cleaning schedules, coordinating with other cleaning contractors, ensuring waste management, and handling the administrative aspects of our holiday let, including managing the booking process.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Overseeing a small team of cleaners and ensuring high standards of cleanliness across all sites.
• Developing and implementing cleaning rotas that efficiently cover all areas team to maximise productivity and optimise use of resources
• Coordinating with external cleaning contractors, including waste and window cleaners.
• Regularly inspecting sites to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained.
• Managing supplies and ensuring the team has the necessary cleaning materials.
• Handling all administrative tasks related to the holiday let, including managing bookings, laundry contracts.
This is a permanent part time role currently 32 hours ideally across 5 days Tuesday to Saturday but we can be flexible with the hours and days, there is also opportunity for the role to grow. Occasionally there may be a need to work late or early to accommodate urgent tasks.

About You

We are looking for someone who has a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to maintaining cleanliness, and the ability to handle administrative tasks efficiently. You should have experience in a supervisory role, be comfortable managing both a team and external contractors. Experience with holiday lets would be a bonus. This will be a busy role with multiple demands, so you will need to prioritise, and be someone who can muti-task, and who likes a challenge.
The right candidate will need to;
• Proven experience in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills for developing effective cleaning rotas.
• Ability to liaise with external contractors and manage multiple sites.
• Have the ability to multitask and prioritise workloads; working both independently and within a team
• Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of and compliance with health and safety
• Have a full UK driving licence. This is essential as some travel to other sites may be required
• Have basic computer skills in Microsoft packages

HSE AND ESTATES MANAGER

About the Role

As the  HSE and Estates Manager at PECO, you are responsible for the safety and well-being of our team, visitors, and guests across both our factory and tourism sites. Also managing the maintenance, gardening and cleaning teams, you will have three direct reports.  

 

You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health and safety programmes across the business. At PECO we are not just passionate about taking care of our people – we care about environmental sustainability too. In this role you will ensure compliance with environmental legislation and identify opportunities to minimise our environmental impact. Working closely with the wider team, you will champion a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organisation. Reporting to the Head of Estates and working closely with  the Managing Director, this role presents a unique opportunity to make a significant impact by implementing and embedding essential processes to ensure legal compliance. 

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Coordinating and facilitating the delivery of HSE legislation across our sites   
  • Ensure that risk assessments are in place and working with relevant stakeholders, consider how risks could be reduced and taking corrective action as necessary  
  • Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazards 
  • Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented 
  • Ensuring compliance with PECO health and safety and environmental strategies and assist in developing internal policies 
  • Leading in-house training with managers and the wider team as appropriate  
  • Record inspection findings, incidents and accidents, producing reports that suggest improvements and communicate with and engage the team as required 
  • Keeping up to date with new legislation and implement within PECO as appropriate  
  • Managing and organising the safe disposal of hazardous substances, e.g. asbestos 
  • Advising on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases 
  • Managing environmental compliance in line with contracts or site permits   
  • Building strong relationships with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies eg Environment Agency 
  • Managing budgets and ensuring a value for money approach across your departments 
  • Building, managing and leading our cleaning, gardening and maintenance teams, so that they are capable and confident to deliver 

About You

The successful candidate will work across a verity of different areas of PECO delivering a safe, clean, compliant environment for all. They will need to build strong relationships across PECO, and be comfortable working with individuals who may be resistant to change. They will need to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully implementing and embedding new processes in order to drive real cultural change.  

 

You will need   

  • A thorough understanding of health and safety and environmental regulations and standards, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively to ensure compliance 
  • Strong leadership and change management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others towards a common safety/compliance goal 
  • Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation 
  • Adaptability and resilience to manage competing priorities and navigate challenging situations 
  • Strong administrative skills, including the ability to maintain accurate records, and prepare reports 
  • Professional certification NEBOSH General Certificate or higher 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications 
  • Good organisation skills and the ability to forward plan and have a proactive management approach 
  • Proven track record of leading a team 

Desirable  

  • IRCA Lead Auditor or similar qualification would be preferred 
  • Previous experience in  leading a multiple discipline team
