Andeer Line Model Railway Operating Sessions

23 Feb 2019 - 24 Feb 2019

The Andeer Line Returns to Pecorama...

Following the success of the ‘mini-exhibition’ of portable layouts last July. On Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th February from 10am-5pm the Andeer line will be returning to Pecorama in the Station Gallery for an operating session.

The Andeer line is Swiss HOm modular layout built by Julia and Derek Boswell which depicts a section of the metre gauge Rhätische Bahn and uses innovative lightweight foam baseboards for ease of storage and transport.

Over the weekend take the chance to help operate the layout which employs digital control with a central ‘signal box’ and drive the trains using smart phones and tablets. On request, there will also be practical demonstrations of the foam baseboard construction and the use of the electrostatic grass.

Admission is included within normal Pecorama ticket prices.

Classic and Vintage Vehicle Rally*

26 May 2019

An outstanding display of vehicles from the last century

The Vintage and Classic Vehicle Rally has evolved from the Steam Festival Days held at Pecorama in the mid 1990s.  It is now a standalone event which has grown in popularity over the years, with vehicles travelling from as far afield as Gloucestershire, Glamorgan, Hampshire and Cornwall to take part.

It’s always a jolly and colourful affair, with deck chairs, sun brollies and picnic baskets scattered among the cherished vehicles.  Much chatter and camera clicking takes place, as both visitors and participants alike inspect and admire the host of vehicles displayed in the Pecorama car parks.

Due to a change in car parking arrangements for 2019 and a potential need to limit numbers, we suggest exhibitors register as soon as possible.

*Pecorama reserves the right to alter dates /event arrangements as circumstances require.

Thomas II’s 40th Birthday Gala

29 Jun 2019 - 30 Jun 2019

It's Thomas II's 40th birthday this year!

Built in 1979 by Roger Marsh of Hinkley, Thomas has put in nearly 40 years of service and covered many thousands of miles in the process.

To celebrate the occasion we are having a Thomas II event on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June 2019, which will include visiting members of the Thomas II class running an intensive service over the weekend.

We would like to invite T2 class locomotives to our event, to run with the home fleet at the Beer Heights Light Railway.

Visiting locomotives must be registered in advance to take part in the event. If you have a loco and would like to attend please email Callum Darraugh (Chief Mechanical Engineer) at callumdarraugh@live.co.uk for details.
