Plan Your Visit

Booking & Visitor Information

We will be opening again on 26th March 2024

Here you can find all the information you need for your visit to Pecorama – for any other queries, please email us at info@pecorama.co.uk

We ask that you book online if possible as this helps us reduce large queue lines and ensures that your entry is dealt with quickly,  so you can start to enjoy your visit.

Trains run throughout the day and you can enjoy your train ride at any time. Information of the day’s trains will be available at the Beer Heights Light Railway ticket office.

If you haven’t booked online, tickets can be purchased at the main entry gate as you come down the hill.

Trains depart regularly from Much Natter station and your ticket includes one train ride. (Extra train rides can be purchased on site). We also have our stunning gardens for you to walk around including our ‘Millenium’ Garden sections with water features and a shell grotto.

On site you will find two takeaway food outlets serving hot and cold drinks, home-made cakes, cream teas and snacks. Our Whistle Stop Cafe now offers homemade pizzas between 11.00am and 2.30pm.

Mini Golf & Table Tennis are also available from the Whistle Stop.  Here, you will also find four outside play areas for varying ages and our Wildway area offers a lovely woodland walk, bug hotel, pond & zip wire.

At the bottom of the hill you will also find our fantastic Model Railway Exhibition and Model Shop for all your railway modelling needs.

Finally, we love dogs and welcome your furry friends on short leads – we even sell doggie ice cream!

MOBILITY INFORMATION

Accessible parking bays are located in the upper car park and on the lower level next to the Exhibition and shop entrance, which are available for Blue Badge holders. Pecorama is situated in a hillside environment and there are steep paths within the gardens which can be difficult to access with wheelchairs. Blue Badge holders may be accompanied by a carer who may also enter free of charge. (Please book a complimentary ticket for this).

Outdoor Play Areas

Great outdoor spaces for the kids to let off some steam!

Alongside all the classic park fun on swings and slides, children can let their imagination run wild as they make friends with fellow shipmates on the ‘PECO Pearl’ pirate ship or take up residence in ‘Castle PECO’.

Older children will enjoy the challenging climbing pyramid in the adventure playground, whilst adults and older children can go to the wildway area to discover the forest walk and whizz down the zip wire!

Pecorama's Mini-Golf Course

We are delighted that we will once more be offering our Mini Golf for families to play. Test your skills, challenge each other, or just while away some time on the course. Games can be purchased from the Whistle Stop Junction

The Station Gallery

A superb space for business meetings, lectures, exhibitions & special events.

Opened in 2000, the Station Gallery sits alongside Pecorama’s famous 7¼ inch gauge Beer Heights Light Railway and forms an integral part of the Millennium Celebration Gardens.

The Gallery’s versatile, triangular shaped space is ideal for art exhibitions and other displays, meetings, performances, conferences and demonstrations and has  a large drop-down screen, HD projector and WIFI. Although Pecorama is only open Easter until October, the Station Gallery can be hired throughout the year.

The Station Gallery can comfortably accommodate up to 50 people and is available for hire on a half day or daily basis. We also offer delegate rates which include refreshments. Hire rates are competitive and can be supplied with full catering options, free parking and the added benefit of extra facilities, including the hire of special train rides or even a team building crazy golf session! (Available during the open season of the tourist site only) The stunning location of the Station Gallery at Pecorama, makes it the ideal venue for hosting a successful event.

BY CAR:

Follow the brown official Tourist Board direction signs indicated with a train symbol for ‘Pecorama Pleasure Gardens’ from the A3052 towards Beer.

BY BUS:

The X52 service travels from Exeter through to Bridport via Lyme Regis, stopping off at Beer Cross which is a 10 minute walk from Pecorama. Please note that this is a steep incline and will not be suitable for anyone who may have difficulty walking.

The 9 / 9A service runs hourly from Exeter to Seaton / Lyme Regis and the 20 service travels from Taunton, via Wellington and Honiton, to Seaton where there are bus services to Beer. Both of these services are offered by Stagecoach.

AVMT provide the 899 service from Sidmouth to Seaton and the 885 from Axminster to Colyton, Seaton and Beer. Some of these buses pass just outside Pecorama and will stop on request.

BY TRAIN:

The nearest train station to Pecorama is Axminster, on the West of England main line. Trains run approximately every hour from Exeter St Davids and from London Waterloo. The station is approximately 9 miles from us. The 885 AVMT bus service travels from the Station to Colyton, Seaton and Beer, every hour Monday to Saturday.

Alternatively, taxis from the station can be booked in advance – Axminster Taxis 01297 34000.
